PILATES CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Introduction
to Pilates
A
combination class that gives the curious student a tour of what the
Pilates Method has to offer through a Mat Class as well as working with
the Pilates apparatus with a Private Session.
Beginner Mat 1
This
class is for the first time participant with a healthy spine who wants
to move at a slower and more controlled pace in order to follow and
master the form as well as to learn to move fluidly through
transitions. Modifications are introduced. Memorizing the order and
mastering this level is required to move on to the Beginner Mat 2.
Pilates Weight Series is introduced.
Beginner Mat 2
Prerequisites
for this class is the mastery of Beginner Mat 1. We are ready to add
new exercises and pick up the tempo. Pilates Weight Series is mastered.
Introduction to Pilates magic circle.
Beginner mat 2/Intermediate Mat
As
a continuation from Beginner Mat 2 this class picks up the tempo with
introductions to Intermediate level exercises. This is a great
maintenance class for those taking more than one class a week. The
weight series and magic circle series are included. An introduction to
the small barrels is included.
Intermediate Mat
Mastery
of the Beginner 1 & 2 Mat levels is required with the
recommendation of your instructor to progress to this level. Pilates
weight series, magic circle, small barrels are included. Introduction
to Advanced Level exercises with modifications is included.
Intermediate/Advanced Mat
The
advanced level exercises are introduced with modifications in order to
safely progress to this more difficult level thus increasing strength
and stamina. A steady tempo is maintained throughout the class. Pilates
weight series, magic circle and small barrels are included. Reformer
Mat exercises are introduced.
Advanced Mat
Mastering
of the advanced exercises without modifications keeping a healthy
tempo. Super-advanced exercises are introduced. Instructor approval is
necessary in order to assure safety of the student.
PILATES MAT FOR YOUTH AGES 10-15 YEARS
Pilates Mat Beg. I
This
is the beginner level class designed with a youthful body in mind. The
basic through intermediate exercises are explained and demonstrated.
Careful observation is given to insure correct alignment and execution
of the exercises. Transitions are learned to connect the exercises in
order to begin to establish a flow through all movements. Memorizing
order is a focus and essential before moving on to Beginner 2 and
Intermediate levels. Introduction to Pilates weight series. This is
ideal for the athlete needing to cross train, dancers, ice skaters or
someone who wants to learn how to care for their bodies for the rest of
their lives.
$5 Pilates Mat
This
is a mixed level class that will begin with the basics and move at the
pace of the students present. This is a great class to add to your
schedule for building stamina and strength.
Cancellation
Policy: 24-hour notice
required; if less than 24 hours, you will be charged for the session.
